Court Again Summons Editor of Daily Hambastegi

TEHRAN -- A court here has summoned the managing editor of the Persian daily*** Hambastegi*** (solidarity), Gholam-heydar Ibrahimbay-Salami, on still unspecified charges, the paper's public relations office said on Tuesday.

The summon is the second of its kind since June 14 when it was announced that the journalist had been asked to appear before the Press Court.

According to the announcement by***Hambastegi***, Salami has been given three days to attend the court for some clarifications.

The editor is under 32 counts of suit, lodged by the Guardian Council, Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, police, Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, Islamic Azad University as well as the daily***Kayhan.*** Salami is also a parliamentary representative from the northeastern constituency of Khaf and Roshtkhar in the Khorasan Province, IRNA reported.

Iranian courts have summoned scores of journalists and revoked the license of their publications for publishing lies and instigating the public opinion.
